Summary:

The Industrial Sales Manager role is responsible for managing business to business co-pack and private label accounts both domestically and internationally. The emphasis is on value added Alaska Seafood principally canned salmon, surimi seafood and secondarily commodity raw material sales. This role will be responsible for fostering relationships with a current customer base as well as developing new customer relationships, while working closely with internal stakeholders, and executing sales strategies.

  • Develops and maintains multi-level relationships with customer cross-functional departments such as FSQA, Marketing, Purchasing, Research and Development, Supply Chain, and Distribution.
  • Interfaces with high-level key decision-makers within the customers' headquarters.
  • Manages existing customer accounts, including a full understanding of forecasting and demand planning.
  • Monitors customers' ongoing business to effectively identify trends and new opportunities.
  • Analyzes and executes timely sales strategies that align with company goals.
  • Creates cross-functional relationships within new targeted accounts.
  • Works with Trident's Innovation team to develop proprietary value-added products for new and existing accounts.
  • Effectively interacts with Trident's support team (R&D, Marketing, Supply Chain Management, Sales, Customer Service, FSQA, etc.)
  • Continuously learns all of Trident's manufacturing capabilities and processes.

This is a salaried exempt position with an annualized salary range of $90k to $120k.

Required Qualifications (education, years of experience, KSAs)

  • Minimum 5 years' experience working in a sales capacity in the food and beverage industry and/or commodity-driven industry with fluctuating supply and demand.
  • Bachelor's degree in Business/Marketing and/or related field; or the equivalent combination of education and years of experience.
  • Strong communications skills both written and verbal.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office tools and applications, (i.e.: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams).
  • Ability to work a variable schedule and across time zones as needed (estimated 5%).
  • Ability to travel to visit customers, the Seattle Support Center, industry events, production facilities and Alaska as needed (estimated 10%).

Preferred education and experience

  • Prior experience in the Consumer Packaged Goods (CPG) private label and or co-pack business.
  • Experience developing and selling customized products.
  • Experience in export sales.
  • Sales experience in the seafood industry.

Work environment (includes travel/on-call):

This job takes place in a typical office environment: temperature controlled with adequate lighting and has moderate noise. This position may occasionally need to work a variable schedule and across time zones as needed (estimated 5%). This position will be required to travel to visit customers, the Seattle Support Center, industry events, production facilities and Alaska as needed (estimated 10%).

Physical demands:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use a computer for long periods and often sit at a desk in an office environment.

The employee is occasionally required to stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl and talk or hear. During visits to production locations, the employee will need normal vision and hearing to safely navigate production floors and warehouses.
