OVERVIEW:
Working as an Full-time FSB Instructional Designer, you will be responsible for designing, developing and maintaining eLearning course curriculum for the Fastenal School of Business. You will conduct curriculum research, collaborate with subject matter experts, and write, design, test, and implement asynchronous online courses. The Fastenal School of Business (FSB) is the internal learning and development division of the Fastenal Company. Since 1999 we have developed the industry's most innovative thinkers and leaders. This position may offer a flexible schedule after a period of onboarding, training, and meeting performance goals.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
The duties and responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:
o Utilizing eLearning authoring tools to create and maintain high quality asynchronous online training courses
o Collaborating with internal departments and subject matter experts to write eLearning content
o Assisting with the design and development of training and training materials for in-person and virtual instructor-led courses
o Providing and incorporating specific, objective, actionable and timely feedback on training content
o Utilizing our learning management system (LMS) to deploy training content

REQUIRED POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:
The following skills and qualifications are required for this position:
o Possess or are working toward a degree in English, Technical Writing, Graphic Design, Communications, Education, Human Resources, Business, liberal arts, or a related field of study OR have relevant work experience
o Excellent written and oral communication skills
o Proficient using Microsoft Office Suite with the ability to learn and utilize eLearning authoring software and Adobe Creative Cloud
o Highly motivated, self directed and customer service oriented
o Demonstrate strong organization, planning, and prioritizing abilities
o Exhibit strong problem solving, deductive reasoning, and decision making skills
o Work independently as well as in a team environment
o Learn and perform multiple tasks in a fast paced environment
o Demonstrate our core values of ambition, innovation, integrity, and teamwork
o Pass the required drug screen (applicable in the US, Puerto Rico, and Guam ONLY)

PREFERRED POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:
o Prior experience in technical writing, graphic design, audio, video, web design, print design, education or training
