Position Overview:
The Maintenance Planner/Scheduler will oversee scheduling, planning, and routine maintenance in multiple production departments (Raw Materials Processing Center, Furnace, and Refining, Waste Water Treatment, or Baghouse) of the Eagan plant. Reporting directly to the Maintenance & Reliability Manager, this role will also serve as the record keeper for the CMMS. This position's work schedule is Monday-Friday days.


Critical Success Criteria:

  • Develop and implement maintenance plan, including regular, preventative, predictive, and shutdown maintenance to help ensure all equipment, machinery, and processes are in working order and performing as needed. Continuous improvements in Preventive Maintenance and Scheduling
  • Update the CMMS system ensuring data is accurate
  • Plan daily maintenance work to help ensure all equipment, machinery and processes are in working order and performing as needed



Responsibilities:

  • Maintain and ensure accuracy of the CMMS, update as needed
  • Plan daily work and collaborate with Maintenance Supervisor
  • Develop maintenance plan for scheduling, execution, and follow up of the following: regular maintenance, preventive maintenance (PM), predictive maintenance (PdM), shutdown maintenance; work with maintenance department, contractors, and vendors
  • Plan maintenance jobs, to include the following: issuing and reviewing work orders for CMMS (computerized maintenance management system), reviewing parts and tools required, and providing detailed work instructions
  • Plan labor for major downtime
  • Organize and maintain spare parts lists, manuals, and drawings
  • Collaborate with Maintenance Supervisor on planning labor for all repair and maintenance projects
  • Provide support as needed to maintenance technicians
  • Manage back log work
  • Use data and statistical problem-solving techniques to improve the plant reliability as measured by key performers while reducing unit costs
  • Facilitate weekly meetings with plant operations team
  • Perform any other duties requested by management


Requirements:

  • High School Diploma/GED from accredited school plus 5 years of maintenance experience within a manufacturing environment OR Associate's/Technical Degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology or related field from accredited school plus 3 years of maintenance experience within a manufacturing environment OR Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology or related field from accredited College or University plus 2 years of maintenance experience within a manufacturing environment.
  • 3+ years of previous work experience using a CMMS (computerized maintenance management system)
  • Excellent mechanical skills, broad knowledge of maintenance concepts and techniques
  • Proficient PC skills to access and maintain information and communicate electronically
  • Aptitude to read, write, understand, and follow technical instructions and drawings; ability to read and understand blueprints
  • Strong organizational and project management skills with the ability to be flexible and adaptable, and to change priorities and direction as needed, allowing for optimum effectiveness
  • Proven troubleshooting, problem-solving, evaluative, and analytical skills; ability to anticipate problems and take necessary action to minimize likelihood and impact of problems
  • Excellent planning and directing skills, and ability to interact with employees at all levels of the organization
  • Strong understanding of workplace safety rules and regulations


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Previous work experience in a role responsible for maintenance planning & scheduling is preferred, but not required
  • Previous work experience in hands-on maintenance role preferred, but not required
  • Technical proficiency with Mainsaver preferred, but not required
  • Technical proficiency with MS Project preferred, but not required


Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able and willing to work in a hot production area while wearing protective clothing including full-mask respirator with or without reasonable accommodation
  • Willingness and ability to wear full-mask respirator directly against skin with or without reasonable accommodation
