About the role:
As part of the Arden Hills Process Development organization, this position's primary responsibilities include leading a team of Process Engineers in advancing technologies across Boston Scientific both divisionally and across all manufacturing sites.

The Senior Manager will oversee the development and management of technology groups focused on deep knowledge and expertise in specific areas that will deliver robust, scalable, high-quality manufacturing processes to divisional and operations customers. Provide strategic input into departmental, divisional, and BSC plant network initiatives.

You will be tasked with building and developing technology focused teams capable of fulfilling multi-projects and multi-customer needs across BSC. This role will concentrate on building effective partnerships across functions and geographic locations to drive successful execution of key programs.

Key responsibilities:

  • Lead technology teams in the achievement of organizational and functional goals.Guide, coach, direct, and develop technical resources.
  • Coach and develop highly capable technology champions and subject matter experts in their respective technology groups.
  • Establish goals and development needs to help guide technology groups.
  • Create a technology roadmap and develop systems to establish excellence in focused technology areas.
  • Assist to make technology groups focused and establish expertise in technical areas.
  • Assist in promoting technical team capabilities and making connections with divisional partners that seek technical solutions.
  • Collaborate with R&D and Manufacturing teams to create innovative and manufacturable product designs.
  • Develop detailed work plans, budgets, objectives, schedules, project estimates, resource plans, and status reports. Monitor & troubleshoot performance and schedule issues, support & enable team to achieve objectives.
  • Work within BSC business cycles to establish projects and funding for technology groups.
  • Make decisions regarding technology landscape and match up them up to company needs.
  • Create an inclusive, high-performance, entrepreneurial environment that enables all participants to contribute to their full potential in pursuit of organizational objectives.
  • Demonstrate effective change leadership.
  • Build strategic partnerships and effectively collaborate cross-functionally to further departmental and organizational objectives.


Minimum requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related discipline and 8+ years of related work experience; or Master's degree and 7+ years of related experience.
  • 3+ years' experience in leading and developing a technical engineering group.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in an engineering discipline and 10+ years of related work experience.
  • Track record of developing strong partnerships with multiple customers simultaneously.
  • Track record of developing partnerships outside of Boston Scientific to gain knowledge and improve the capabilities of a technology group.
  • Vision to see what technologies are going to be needed in the future and ability to get them started with little oversight or guidance.
  • Team oriented approach to projects thatdrives collaboration & execution in technology areas.
  • Experience in developing and leading technology focused work groups.
  • Demonstrated competency in leading teams in the development of complex technical solutions from concept to commercialization.
  • Experience working with divisional franchise partners and having a track record of success with them.
  • Experience working in manufacturing, identifying opportunities, and delivering on commitments.
  • Working knowledge of BSC therapies, products, and processes.
