Job Functions:

Job Summary
This position assembles generator sets and sub-assemblies that include both standard and non-standard product lines. This will require using hand and power tools and following quality and procedural techniques. This will also include contributing to improving processes, contributing to line efficiency, improving different areas of the assembly line, and other tasks given by the Line Lead or supervisor.
Job Functions (Essential)
  1. Use work instructions, drawings, schematics and equipment used to perform assembly duties of medium complexity in a wider level of work areas (i.e. Line 1 and Large Assembly).
  2. Cross train in multiple assembly areas and help in other areas based on necessity.
  3. Assist in training new employees learning new work areas on work instructions/standard work.
  4. Develop and maintain an understanding of the products assembled and continuous learning of the principles, practices and processes of their job as changes require.
  5. Suggest and implement improvements of existing equipment, designs, and/or processes to improve safety, quality, and productivity.
  6. Contributes to improving processes, lead times and through-put.
  7. Recognize obvious defective or damaged parts, incorrect sizes, faulty workmanship and general quality.
  8. Responsible for following safety and environmental procedures and established processes and policies.
  9. Resolve problems with assistance from supervisors depending on the level and complexity
  10. Provide input on continuous improvement opportunities within the department
  11. Promote a compliance culture in area of responsibility and live the letter and the spirit of the Rolls Royce Code of Conduct.
  12. Perform special projects as required

Qualifications:

Qualifications (Education, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities)
Required:
  1. 2 years of assembly experience with heavy duty equipment or 2 years of applicable mechanical experience
  2. Ability to meet Assembly 1 competency assessment
  3. Good ability to access information needed with SAP system
  4. Good command of the English language, both written and verbal
  5. Good ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables
  6. Good ability to perform repetitive tasks in a manufacturing environment
  7. Good ability to deliver results in a fast-paced environment
  8. Demonstrates proficiency in both oral and written communication as well as communicate in a team environment
  9. Quality and detail orientation and good organizational skills
  10. Good ability to learn and adapt to changing technology
  11. Good ability to use a variety of hand and power tools
  12. Ability to lift and carry 50 lbs. frequently
Preferred:
  1. High School Diploma or GED
  2. Experience with SAP or equivalent ERP system
  3. Large equipment industrial experience
  4. Good mechanical skills
