Position Overview

The successful candidate will be an individual who is committed to equitable education of all students. She or he will have a strong background in instruction and assessment for learning practices, and will focus on ensuring the learning and achievement of each student.

Primary Responsibilities
Duties of this job include, but are not limited to:

Teaching Secondary English, preferably at the Senior High School level is required. A strong knowledge base on assessment for learning, personalization/differentiation and intervention strategies is highly desired. Ability to teach high school standards in all areas of language arts is important. Courses taught may include mainstream, honors and upper level, and potentially AP courses. Additional courses and other certifications/licensure are helpful.

Preferences
We strongly prefer candidates who have exhibited excellence in collaboration with colleagues and an enthusiasm to work with students. Preferred candidates will also have a demonstrated commitment to ongoing learning as evidenced by graduate-level work or an earned degree, as well as participation in professional organization conferences or seminars related to the content area.

Qualifications

The successful candidate must have earned a B.A. or B.S. degree and current Minnesota State Licensure in Secondary Language Arts Education. Additional demonstrated qualifications include: commitment to the equitable education of all students; creative planning and organizational skills, and highly effective interpersonal skills. Prefer candidate with experience working with diverse learners.

Licensing Requirements
Current Minnesota Secondary Language Arts license or eligibility is required.
