Our Southwest aviation department has a full-time opening for an experienced professional to lead our Sacramento aviation engineering group.
This position's responsibilities include:
- Assign work to staff and monitor workload.
- Coordinator with other supervisors /DM as needed.
- Complete administrative functions related to employees including various approvals, performance evaluation, career planning and pay recommendations.
- Monitor and address staff performance.
- Manage projects and/or provide technical oversight.
- Assist with review and approval of project budgets and handle billing/invoicing for projects.
- Coordinate, evaluate, and recommend training to develop staff skills.
- May negotiate and/or administer contracts.
- Remain current on relevant technical and management issues.
- Ensuring aviation group and Mead & Hunt policies and procedures are followed.
- Foster existing client relationships and expand client base for aviation group.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
This position is located in Sacramento, CA and travel will be required.
The successful candidate must have a combination of education and/or experience totaling ten years of relevant experience. Any of the following is acceptable:
- Bachelor's degree in civil engineering, or related field plus 5 years of experience.
- Associate degree in civil engineering, or related field plus 7 years of experience.
The ideal candidate will have experience with any/all of the following:
- Managing or supervising staff.
- Mentoring project staff.
- Project management (with preference for aviation experience).
- Company QA/QC program.
- Effective communication.
The ideal candidate will also have a PE license in any state with the ability to obtain a PE license in California.
