HOW YOU WILL CONTRIBUTE TO OUR TEAM (Overview & Key Responsibilities):

The Mechanical Test Engineer performs engine dyno, bench, and field testing along with R&D of new testing projects. Engine dyno test program design and troubleshooting. Drafting detailed engine teardown reports. Direct contact and communication with customers at manager's discretion. Often functions as an unsupervised laboratory operator and/or performs other tasks within the Lube-Tech manufacturing process.

  • Performs engine buildup, teardown, inspection, and troubleshooting.
  • Reports test results with conclusions for customer viewing.
  • Photographs engine and test components.
  • Helps assure mechanical test quality and repeatability.
  • Assist with design and improve mechanical tests & equipment.
  • Utilize CAD to design testing fixtures.
  • Fabricates test fixtures and other equipment.
  • Writes and maintains test procedures.
  • Performs quality control on incoming raw materials & assists blending candidate products as directed.
  • Occasionally performs non-test related assignments as directed.
  • Occasionally travels for training and customer visits.
  • Perform additions and mixing of fuels and lubricants as well as coolants and cleaners.
  • Generate parts supply lists and maintain inventory.
  • Generate test reports in PowerPoint and Excel.
  • Calibrates lab instrumentation.
  • Has a flexible work schedule.

WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED (Minimum Qualifications):

  • BS Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, or equivalent degree.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
  • Self-motivated, Punctual, Deadline-conscious, Urgency-aware
  • Flexible Schedule
  • Knowledge with basic fabrication and machine tools
  • Knowledge with small engines, powersports engines, and dyno testing
  • AutoCAD, Solidworks or similar experience
  • Basic AC & DC circuits electrical knowledge
