Job Scope:

As a HCM Business Analyst II, in this role, you will be responsible for creating and implementing automated processes to effectively streamline and improve HR operations. You will work with process owners across the organization to understand current HR business processes, identify gaps opportunities for improvement, and areas for automation. You will support ad-hoc special projects with a data or automation focus within the HR organization. In this role, you will also be responsible for collaborating on training sessions with internal trainers,providing guidance and support to process owners for automated processes.

To succeed in this role, you should understand HR business processes and the ability to identify opportunities for automation. You should have experience documenting processes, designing workflows, and developing process maps. You should possess strong communication, collaboration, and analytical skills. You must be able to handle ambiguity, be self-motivated to figure out the total picture, and propose resolutions or make appropriate decisions tailored to the project at hand.

Key Duties and responsibilities

  • Provide both functional and technical expertise and direction as it relates to the HCM systems. Including but not limited to base HR, benefits, payroll, and other related systems.
  • Work with the payroll team to ensure that proper information is being transmitted to the Dayforce payroll, scheduling, time and attendance, etc.
  • Work with the Benefits & Compensation and Payroll leadership to ensure that proper carrier feeds are being provided to the benefit providers and inform the benefit's team if error messaging occurs.
  • Collaborate across teams, geographies, and organizational levels to identify and translate business requirements into scalable automation solutions.
  • Lead sessions with process owners to step through the current state process in detail and ask thoughtful questions to gain a full and clear understanding of the process being automated.
  • Identify optimization and standardization opportunities based on these sessions and continually collaborate with the process owner to ensure any recommended process changes satisfy requirements and meet process owner expectations.
  • Support testing and implementation of automated solutions by creating test cases and partnering closely with process owners to validate test results and deploy projects.
  • Learn and interact with different enterprise systems that are used.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest industry trends and best practices pertaining to automation and data tools and continuously share knowledge with the team.
  • Collaborate effectively with a team to achieve project objectives and help foster a cohesive, collaborative team culture that delivers results and drives innovation

Education, Experience and Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in MIS, IT, Human Resources, Accounting, Business, or similar field of study, and four years relevant experience or equivalent work experience
  • 2+ years experience as a Business Analyst or in similar roles, with a background in requirements documentation and diagramming
  • Experience with Data Analytics and Reporting Suite preferred
  • Knowledge of Ceridian required
  • Knowledge of SuccessFactors, Vendor Carrier feeds preferred
  • Excellent analytical and critical thinking skills
  • Successful track record of delivering detailed requirements for projects, specifically around leading/driving business transformation or business process automation
  • Strong facilitation skills in leading planning meetings, reviews, and retrospectives
  • Extensive experience working with business partners and users
  • Supports enterprise-level analysis responsibilities including planning and scoping interdependent activities and leading senior business stakeholders to make informed decisions
  • Good interpersonal skills and ability to work with diverse and remote teams
  • Professional client presence, influencing, and active listening skills
  • Ability to structure and communicate needs, requirements, and solutions in a business context for business stakeholders
  • Demonstration of diplomacy, good judgment, professionalism, and the ability to handle confidential information
