Overview

THIS IS A REMOTE POSITION BUT CANDIDATE SHOULD LIVE IN THE METRO MINNEAPOLIS MN ARE TO ATTEND CAREER FAIRS, PARTICIPATE IN COMMUNITY OUTREACH, VISIT PARTNER SITE AND ATTEND MEETINGS.

With a clear understanding of AmeriCorps and Ampact programs, the Recruitment Specialist will develop and implement a comprehensive member sourcing strategy for all Minnesota education, climate, and healthy futures AmeriCorps programs.

A successful Recruitment Specialist is action-oriented, outcomes focused, data informed, and believes in the mission of AmeriCorps and the power of national service. This position will observe confidentiality of all applicants, program, and organizational information.

Responsibilities
    Candidate Sourcing and Outreach: With direction from the Director of Talent Acquisition, Director of Programs, and Senior Manager, implement comprehensive strategies to successfully source qualified, diverse AmeriCorps members annually. Continually monitor talent acquisition metrics to gauge the success of sourcing tactics and strategies and adjust priorities as necessary.
    1. Vision, plan, and execute centralized recruitment and awareness efforts to increase AmeriCorps member applications. This includes national and regional position posting. National and regional outreach and community engagement and event attendance, and partnership cultivation.
    2. Execute recruitment needs from program staff for outreach campaigns spanning email, call center, web, and social media content.
    3. Develop content and tactics for specific geographic targets for recruitment efforts, in collaboration with other internal and external partners.
    4. Creating and adapting sourcing plans to meet the needs of new and emerging programs and initiatives.
    5. Develop and deploy tools to strengthen outreach pipeline to ensure we have a robust and inclusive strategy.

  • Develop and Maintain Internal and External Relationships: Develop sustainable partnerships with colleges, high schools, AmeriCorps service sites, service commissions, and community organizations etc. to meet recruitment goals.
    1. Build and maintain collaborative working relationships with college(s). Activities may include but are not limited to conversations/information sessions with career centers, education department heads, student/cultural groups. Attend college career fairs in person and virtually to proactively nurture student relationships using various recruitment tools.
    2. Seek out and build partnerships with local community organizations such as workforce centers, employment assistance organizations, and support agencies serving diverse populations to promote service opportunities. Throughout the year, attend events to promote assigned programs and positions.
    3. Identify and develop partnerships with organizations and community groups that are led by or serve diverse communities with the goal of increasing the racial diversity of the applicant pool.
    4. Track recruitment relationships and use data to inform partnership building efforts and priorities.

  • Lead Generation and Management
    1. Use data to inform a lead generation strategy. Analyze efficacy of various lead generation tactics to inform strategy and future outreach and sourcing actions.
    2. Ensure regular communication with constituents at various stages of the recruitment process.
    3. Follow up on warm leads from internal and external partners to ensure leads are converted to applicants and, ultimately, enrolled members.
    4. Develop applicant communication strategies and tools to engage leads and applicants from interest to hire.

  • Communications and Marketing
    1. Draft recruitment messages, content, scripts for review and feedback.
    2. Support content ideation to develop and implement recruitment materials.
    3. Partner with content contributors to strategize channel communications.

  • Team Support: Under the direction of the supervisor, provide additional support as required or needed to meet the goals of the team. Participate in team meetings; provide updates and collaborate across roles ensure successful member recruitment and retention.
Qualifications

Minimum Skills and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience preferred.
  • Minimum of 1 year experience with candidate sourcing in a high volume setting or similar.
  • Experience in all or some of the following is desired: sales, recruitment marketing, talent acquisition and full-cycle recruitment, and lead management.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and attention to detail.
  • Experience in developing relationships in a variety of settings such as colleges/universities, Pre-K - 12 school settings, and nonprofit and community organizations.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and take initiative to achieve recruitment goals.
  • Fluency with technology and communication tools.
  • Experience using data to make decisions and establish priorities.
  • Self-awareness, emotional intelligence, and ability to grow and develop intercultural competence.
  • Experience working in partnership with communities of color and Indigenous communities.
  • Commitment to supporting diverse perspectives, applicants, and enrolled members in our programs.
  • Ability to work effectively in collaboration with diverse groups of people.
  • Commitment to develop equity skills and cultural competence.

  1. Travel locally and statewide as needed to attend meetings
