Join our team as a Core Services Manager!

This is an remote role based in Minnesota.

We are looking for a Core Services Manager to manage a team of technologists within our growing technology organization. The core services team provides support for our global organization and includes storage, network, virtualization, telephony, and server administration.

You will:

  • Manage staff members in their daily activities by communicating job expectations, personal development planning, performance appraisals and goal setting
  • Ensure appropriate systems and service continuity plans are defined, in place and exercised regularly
  • Completes projects by coordination of resources, managing scope, setting appropriate timelines and communicating to the business
  • Recommend and implement globally supported enterprise class technology solutions
  • Ensure financial objectives are met through forecasting, participation in the annual budget process and project estimations
  • Establish, and monitor, Core services team operating metrics.
  • Manage, and implement, processes and procedures for operating a 24x7 organization within the documented SLAs.
  • Interface with hardware and software vendors.

What it takes:

  • Two-year degree in related field of study OR 5+ years of direct applicable experience in an Infrastructure Manager role in lieu of degree.
  • Experience as a manager on a multi-member team supporting a global organization.
  • Experience providing technical work direction and coaching for team members.
  • Experience project managing Infrastructure related projects from initiation through deployment.
  • Working knowledge of DNS, Active Directory management, Powershell and GPOs
  • Working knowledge of VMware
  • Strong troubleshooting skills.
  • Experience documenting policies and procedures for team members to follow to ensure team is compliant and runs efficiently.
  • Strong customer service and communication skills, strong organizational skills, and strong work ethic.
  • Demonstrated history of staying current on best practices in technology.

    Physical Demands:

    While performing the essential duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit; use a computer keyboard, monitor and mouse, telephone and printer; reach with hands, and arms, talk, see and hear.     Work Environment:

    Indoors (A/C); nonsmoking; the majority of this job function is performed in an office setting requiring normal safety precautions. However, there may be job duties that require the employee to spend time in the manufacturing areas exposed to machinery and noise; eye protection occasionally required. Occasionally works in outside weather conditions. Occasionally works near moving mechanical parts and in high, precarious places and is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, risk of electrical shock and vibration. The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet to moderate.
