Relief Operator- 2nd First Year $3,000 Sign On Bonus

2nd shift - 3pm-11pm

$23/hour + shift differential

The duties of the Relief Operator will include, but not limited to, the following:

  • Qualify on all tasks associated with packer operator, forklift operator, utility operator, bulk operator, and bulk helper roles.Operate the transfer, cleaning house and tempering equipment to fulfill the requirements of the mill-run schedule and in strict adherence to the sampling requirements in the PRP program.
  • Perform sanitation duties, as assigned as listed on the Master Sanitation Schedule (MSS) or as needed/assigned.
  • Be trained to, and "STEP-UP" into a Miller's position filling in for vacancies as they occur and as needed.
  • Maximize milling efficiencies in the plant daily by focusing on adjustment and operation of cleaning house and mill equipment.
  • Monitor the entire milling process and perform basic equipment maintenance/troubleshooting tasks for all equipment related to the operation of the mill
  • Cover vacations and other labor shortages as scheduled/needed, including moving shifts when applicable.
  • Performs all tasks associated withoperating equipment to fill material, including quality checks, analytics, flour blending, and following all associated safety policies. Routine cleaning of floors, roofs, equipment, and outside grounds.
  • Must follow Master Sanitation Schedule (MSS) guidelines. Complete all paperwork and computer data entry accurately and legibly; including but not limited to PRISM, COAs, metal detector checks, feed in, and organic documents.
  • Must understand than overtime is sometimes required during the week, weekend, and holidays.
  • Due to seasonality of business and volatility of markets, work hours can change suddenly.
  • Must be able to work safely, following all safety procedures, taking all precautions, and using all required safety equipment.
  • Must be able to follow all Good Manufacturing Practices and other company policies.
  • Must work efficiently; be alert, organized, and cooperative at all times. Must keep work areas clean at all times and perform all sanitation-related duties safely and effectively. Actively participate in department and facility teams relating to the improvement of plant safety, quality and efficiency.
  • Must be able to lift 50 pounds.
  • Must have the ability to work in a manufacturing environment that involves exposure to dust, cold, heat, long periods of both standing and sitting, ability to climb ladders, bend, and move to inspect equipment and product.

Physical requirements and working conditions (with or without reasonable accommodation):

  • Frequently stand, walk, rotate, bend/stoop, twist, crouch, kneel, balance and reach or lift at shoulder level, above shoulder level, and below shoulder level
  • Frequently climb stairs and/or ladders
  • Occasionally lift/shovel/carry up to 55 pounds
  • Occasionally push up to 200 pounds of force
  • Occasionally pull/torque up to 210 pounds of force
