PRIMARY PURPOSE:

As the Information Systems Technical Writer, you will be writing descriptive, clear, easy-to-understand end user procedures (EUPs) and process flows for our Information Systems to include any integration into and out of other systems. You will be asked to evaluate and analyze complex information, reform it into a clear and effective product that will be used to help users understand the concept.

    KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Develop comprehensive documentation that meets organizational standards.
    • Convert complex documentation to easy language for multiple audiences.
    • Research topics, write documents and edit their work for publication.
    • Have technical accuracy in writing user documentation.
    • Work both independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
    • Gather information from subject-matter experts and develop, organize, and write procedure manuals, technical specifications, and process documentation.
    • Meet with subject-matter experts to ensure specialized topics are appropriately addressed.
    • Ensure projects are completed on time.
    • Analyze information required for the development or update of policy, procedure and form documentation.
    • Review and/or copyedit content developed by others.
    • Research, create, and maintain information architecture templates that adhere to organizational and legal standards.
    • Utilize company's documentation repositories to revise and edit current documentation within this centralized storage.

    SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:

    • Bachelor's degree preferred.
    • 4+ years of proven experience in writing technical documentation.
    • Solid understanding of documentation publishing software such as Microsoft Office products, Visio, Adobe, SnagIt, and other software.
    • Understanding of standard business and manufacturing processes.
    • Proven ability to quickly learn and understand complex subject matter.
    • Strong research and analytical skills.
    • Excellent communication skills.
    • Ability to prioritize and execute tasks in a fast-paced environment.
    • Experience in working with many departments to refine content and create visuals and diagrams for technical support content.
    • Willingness to take on new challenges and build on current skills.
    • Ability to check all technical material for consistency and accuracy.
