KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Creation, documentation, maintenance, and support of the following engineering areas:
  • Control and distribution systems for manufacturing specifications, standards documentation, and instructions as required for the proper fabrication of standard designs.
  • Engineering data and worksheets to support and enhance the processing of modified standard and special design configurations.
  • Documentation distribution systems for both standard and special-order processing.
  • Applications development and implementation, including computer-based tools and worksheets, applications software management, scheduling and performance reporting tools, and vendor interface.
  • Training of the engineering staff regarding software and hardware enhancements, use of standards and other tools. Training of other TCF personnel in the above topics as requested and assigned.
  • Documentation, maintenance, and support of the fan Selector program, working with involved departments to facilitate implementation and release of new and revised fan models. Includes support of related software applications.
  • Analyzes engineering, drafting and order entry procedures and their results, recommending changes, writing modifications, and coordinating their implementation. Coordinates process and system development efforts with the Design and Production Engineering groups, as well as other departments as required.
  • Establishes procedures with peers relative to system integrity and maintenance.
  • Training employees in software applications, addressing complaints and resolving problems.
  • Assures that technical, administrative, and schedule targets are met within the framework of established goals and organizational policy, and in accordance with applicable professional standards, design control procedures, and organizational procedures and guidelines.
  • Troubleshoots systems and works with MIS/IT personnel as required to facilitate systems improvements, problem resolutions, and hardware/software implementations for engineering-related systems. May participate in enterprise-wide systems efforts as assigned.
  • Conducts feasibility studies for proposed projects. Evaluates progress made on projects and makes or suggests changes justified.
  • Provides customer support as required.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Two+ years related systems programming experience.
  • One+ years related experience in engineering and CAD applications.
  • Working knowledge of application programming software, including C#, SQL, SQL Server Management Studio, and other MS-Office applications.
  • Ability to do interface programming with CAD software, associated with new product development or customized products. Experience with SolidWorks programming interfaces desired.
  • Ability to develop project scope and plans with instruction only regarding general expected results. Ability to make decisions independently.
  • Git source control experience is desired.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS/WORKING CONDITIONS:

  • Standard office environment
  • Ability to occasionally lift to 20 pounds.
  • Ability to occasionally climb, balance, stoop, kneel, reach.
  • Ability to work extended hours sitting at a computer.
