Intern: Data Retention
Position Overview: The Retention Data Intern will assist the Retention Data Manager with administrative duties related to student success as part of the Academic Advising team at CSP. This position will provide a current CSP traditional (on-campus) undergraduate student with the opportunity to gain internship credits and experience within the following career- related areas: Data/Analytics, Communication plans and outreaches, data entry/experience with various educational technology and analytics platforms, and project management skills. Candidates must be enrolled in an Internship course at CSP for Fall 2024 and/or Spring 2025.
This position will be located on-campus in the Academic Advising offices during the 2024-2025 school year (Fall and/or
Spring, with preference given to students seeking a two-semester internship).
Essential Duties:
  • Gain office experience by contributing to the day-to-day administrative duties of the Student Success team
  • Learn about strategic communication plans and get hands-on experience with email copy design and modifications
  • Collaborate on reports with the Retention Data Manager and Graduate Assistant, reviewing and interpreting various data related to retention and student success
  • Get to know various reporting structures and platforms, including dashboard visualizations and automated reports
  • Perform various data entry tasks in order to update student records in Banner and Slate
  • Create and design advertisements and other promotional materials for advising events and initiatives
  • Other duties as assigned
Education & Experience:
  • Required: Must be a traditional undergraduate student in an internship course at CSP in a related major (Math, Communications, Marketing, or Business Management preferred)
  • Required: Basic experience working with Excel spreadsheets: knowledge of cells, basic functions
  • Preferred: Intermediate experience working with Excel spreadsheets utilizing various functions, pivot tables, and charts
  • Required: Experience with Google's G Suite for Education
  • Preferred: Experience with educational technology platforms including: Banner, Blackboard (Pyramid Analytics), D2L Brightspace, CRM (Slate, Navigate), CampusESP
  • Preferred: Experience working in an office environment
