Intermediate District 287 is looking for qualified candidates for an Interpreter position for our Itinerant Programs!

Our Interpreters are responsible for facilitating communication between deaf/hard of hearing students and others by interpreting in educational settings. This position will participate as a member of the educational team serving these students.

Position Details:

FTE: 0.875; 30 hours per week Salary Range: $27.33 - $32.69 per hour DOE and E Generous Benefits: Medical (including infertility benefits), dental, life insurance, long-term disability insurance, paid leave, pension, optional 403b, and an incredible employee assistance program (includes 6 free counseling sessions)

Requirements:

Experience as an interpreter in a variety of situations involving the deaf/hard of hearing. Must have completed a training program affiliated with a state accredited educational institution and hold one of the following:
An interpreter and/or transliterator certificate awarded by the Registry of Interpreters for the Deaf (RID); OR A general level proficiency certificate at level 3 awarded by the National Association of the Deaf (NAD); OR Educational Interpreter Performance Assessment (EIPA) at the 4.0 level.
