Study Abroad Graduate Assistant
Position Overview: The Study Abroad Graduate Assistant will assist the Director of Student Engagement and Assistant Director of Study Abroad in campus-wide programs targeting growth in study abroad opportunities for our traditional student population. The position will manage marketing design for digital advertisements of study abroad opportunities, offer drop-in student events, and support planning efforts for travel seminars. The position will also support community engagement opportunities by offering one-time volunteer opportunities available for all students. The position will support campus service and vocation initiatives that align with the university's strategic goals specific to increasing student retention.
Start Date: August 15th, 2024.
Stipend: $2500 per Academic Year
Depending upon qualification, need, and availability, this position may be eligible for housing on campus if able to serve on the Residence Life Pro-Staff on-call crisis response rotation. Furnished housing would be provided in one of our on-campus residence halls. Estimated value for the 2024-2025 academic year is $4,500-$6,000 per semester, depending on the type of housing assigned
  • Graduate program compensated through tuition payment (valued at $17,100-$26,250 - program-based)
Essential Duties:
  • Arrange student outreach activities such as presentations and information tables
  • Assist in the promotion and marketing of study abroad programs
  • Manage study abroad data and application process in Via
  • Assist with travel seminar planning and group communication
  • Provide support for the advising process
  • Serve as Comet's Connection volunteer hours manager
  • Support campus service and vocation initiatives
  • Assist the Study Abroad staff in ongoing projects related to reaching new audiences for study abroad and policy development
Education & Experience:
  • MUST be enrolled in a CSP Master's Program
  • Preferred: Experience in higher education student development
  • Preferred: Experience with event planning
  • Preferred: Volunteer engagement experience
Competencies:
  • Strong interpersonal and intercultural skills
  • Self-motivated to work independently and within a team
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to balance multiple projects and responsibilities
