This is a hybrid positions with 3 days a week (Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday) onsite in Maple Plain, MN.

Compensation:

  • Base Salary: $55k + monthly commissions

The Sales Representative under regular oversight, is responsible for selling products & services and acting as a point of contact, focusing on customer satisfaction, retention, and growing revenue within assigned contacts.

What you'll do:

RELATIONSHIP MANAGEMENT

  • Build and maintain communications with internalpartners on customerprojects withinProtolabs,
  • Leverages existing customer relationships to generate customer referralstoinfluencers & decision makers,bygaining knowledge, insight and understanding of customer priorities, strategies and needs.
  • Serve as theprimarycontact person forleads and customers onpre-sales and post-sale activities.
  • Navigates basic business interactions with customers.

PLANNING & RESEARCH

  • Determine customer needs and motivations in terms of; timeline product needs, budget, and decision-making authorities/influencers.
  • Plan and execute sales events (e.g., presentations, customer tours/audits).
  • Research customers to understand their product, company, role, and buying patterns.

DEMAND GENERATION

  • Prepare,conduct,and facilitatecustomer meetings and presentations (virtually or in-person)to increase awareness, drive customer relationship to grow & retainbusiness.
  • Retain and grow revenues of a customer base through proactiveand reactivesales activities (e.g. shipment follow-ups, colleague referrals).

PERFORMANCE & PROJECT MANAGEMENT

  • Achieves and or exceeds key performance indicators &othermetrics to deliver growth targets and revenue.
  • Maintaincustomer information by documenting & tracking engagement and interactions within Customer Resource Management software application- (CRM / Salesforce).
  • Accurately forecast, manage, and advancesales opportunities through the various sales stages.
  • Demonstrates company values,complies with policies,and completes all assigned training initiatives.
  • Manage sales opportunity pipeline fromlead toclose.
  • Discover and align customer needs with Protolabs products & services.

You will also:

  • Complete routine sales following established practices and policies to achieve short-term (e.g., weekly, or monthly) revenue growth/gain.
  • Respond to customer project management needs and may contribute to gaining consensus with customers.
  • Typically, services assigned or established client base transactional opportunities and revenue responsibility.
  • Operate under regular oversight of sales leader with little latitude for independent judgment.
  • Work is conducted under clearly defined guidelines.
  • Collaborate with senior sales personnel to establish best practices for gaining/growing revenue and managing sales opportunities.

What it takes:

  • Entry-level position; 0-2years of experience.
  • Bachelor's Degreeor equivalent sales experience
  • Some knowledge of industry practices, techniques, and standards preferred but not required
  • Some use and/or application of basic business principles, theories, and concepts preferred but not required.
  • Focusing on onboarding and learning about company product/service offerings and gaining understanding of markets & accounts.
  • Applying basic problem-solving methods to define and resolve problems. Determining a course of action based on guidelines.

Physical Demands:

While performing the essential duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit; use a computer keyboard, monitor, and mouse, telephone, and printer; reach with hands, and arms, talk, see and hear. Work Environment:

Indoors (A/C); nonsmoking; majority of this job function is performed in an office setting requiring normal safety precautions. However, there may be job duties that require the employee to spend time in the manufacturing areas exposed to machinery and noise; eye protection occasionally required. Occasionally works in outside weather conditions. Occasionally works near moving mechanical parts and in high, precarious places and is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, fumes, or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, risk of electrical shock and vibration. The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet to moderate.
