KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assesses market competition by comparing the company's product features, performance, costs and prices to competitors' products, documenting these comparisons, collecting the voice of the customer and differentiating TCF offering.
  • Assists with creation and implementation of project plans and/or market studies for: new products, design changes, cost reductions and new product launches.
  • Assists bringing new products to market by analyzing proposed product requirements and product development programs; preparing return-on-investment analyses; establishing time schedules with Engineering, Manufacturing, Sales and Marketing, confirming customer acceptance.
  • Assists with defining product pricing by utilizing market research data; reviewing production and sales costs relative to competition, and documenting market elasticity (volume relationship to price relative to different key competitors)
  • Coordinates all product additions and maintenance of existing product data in the Fan Selector Program: package/fan configurations, accessories, pricing, configuration rules, weights, costs, cross-reference, feature descriptions, specifications, drawings, etc.
  • Creates product content for literature in conjunction with all New Product Development efforts. Reviews existing product literature for accuracy and suggests enhancements. Product literature includes: bulletins, specifications, flyers, IOMs, etc.
  • Utilizes product cost data to make value engineering recommendations to support the financial success of the assigned products.
  • Generates and analyzes data to make product related decisions. Examples of data include: competitor capabilities and gaps (unfulfilled market needs) sales history by model/size, customer data, inventory levels, purchased part costs, freight costs, sell prices, etc.
  • Provide product informational support to internal sales staff.
  • Educate Independent Sales Rep and their customers on technical aspects of the products assigned, and the value propositions that encourage a prospect to choose TCF at a premium price.
  • Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies.
  • Maintain close contact with the shop floor. Listen to the problems and ideas. Prioritize and pursue the most important concerns.
  • Participate in value engineering projects on an ongoing basis to continually improve designs and processes.
  • Travel up to 20%, including Independent Sales Reps, Customers, vendors, and job sites.

Skills and Experience Requirements

  • BA/BS Undergraduate degree in Engineering, Marketing, Business or related field, MBA, or other relevant advanced degree preferred.
  • 2+ years sales & marketing experience in the industrial and commercial fan and blower business
  • Experience in collaboration with executive, sales, engineering, manufacturing and key operational groups
  • Proven record of leadership in marketing, sales and/or product management as an application engineer
  • Work requires professional written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to create effective presentations to various stakeholders, including government agencies, senior leadership, external constituents. Articulate and diplomatic written and verbal communication
  • High level of personal and professional integrity and trustworthiness with strong work ethic and the ability to work independently with minimal direction

PHYSICAL DEMANDS/WORKING CONDITIONS

  • Standard office environment
  • Ability to occasionally lift up to 20 pounds
  • Ability to occasionally climb, balance, stoop, kneel, reach
  • Ability to work extended hours sitting at a computer

WORK ENVIRONMENT

While performing the duties of this position, the employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts and extreme heat. The noise level in the production environment is usually loud.
