Toppan Merrill is looking for a Principal HRBP to join our team. You'll support our Technology and Product Development Teams. In this position you are a strategic thought-partner to senior business leaders on matters relating to organizational development, organizational effectiveness, change management, transformation, performance management and building and sustaining high performing teams.

You'll be responsible for consulting and advising organization leaders on adapting and applying HR initiatives and programs within their teams. You will oversee the execution of various HR programs, including team member engagement, talent management, training, performance management and HR communications. You'll assist with escalations involving regulatory matters and/or performance management. You will ensure equitable application of organization policies and procedures. This position requires you to think big, use data to guide your work, be comfortable challenging convention, and explore new ways of how work is done.

The preferred location for this position is St. Paul, MN and is a hybrid position, with time in the office as required to support your client group or the broader HR team.

Responsibilities

  • Engages with Tech and Product leadership offering thought leadership and partnership on organizational and people-related strategies.
  • Engages with Tech and Product leaders to understand evolving business needs and associated people and organization requirements.
  • Collaborates with HR functions and specialists to ensure proper alignment and focus of HR programs, initiatives, and priorities.
  • Develops, implements, and monitors progress of strategically focused HR programs, initiatives, policies, and operations.
  • Monitors HR programs and initiatives company-wide to ensure effective focus and positive impact on enhancing people and organization capability.
  • Analyzes tech and product people and organizational requirements, operations, gaps, and issues - engaging with leadership to understand potential business implications and develop resolution strategies.
  • Monitors ongoing compliance with corporate policies / practices and with applicable laws and regulations; addresses and resolves issues of noncompliance promptly and effectively.
  • Monitors industry and the competition for potentially impactful people, organization, and related management changes, trends, and challenges.
  • Guideand participate in investigations and ensure timely resolution and completion
  • Collaborate with Tech and Product leaders on organizational structure and design, prepare detailed job descriptions and define job levels in partnership with managers
  • Serve as a liaison between employees and managers to develop solutions to work-related concerns

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

You will need:

  • 4-yeaer degree or equivalent experience and at least 6 years of progressive experience in Human Resources, including leadership experience
  • Must have experience as a strategic business partner supporting engineering-focused technology and product organizations.
  • Working applied knowledge of federal, state and local labor, wage and employment laws
  • Excellent Presentation Skills
  • Experience consulting with business leaders on change management
  • Excellent interpersonal and persuasive skills; ability to gain support and buy-in from key partners across the company
  • Strong customer service orientation, project management, and follow through skills
  • High level aptitude at multi-tasking, excellent time management skills with the ability to meet deadlines
  • Ability to travel as required
  • 8 years of progressive HR Business Partner experience, with at least 2 years partnering with Senior Leadership
  • Experience working in a fast paced, high growth, dynamic business environment; tech industry experience desired
