Position Summary

The Vice President, Digital Applications will provide overall leadership for establishing and delivering the digital applications strategy across the enterprise. Responsibilities include technology selection, design, development, implementation, operational transition, maintenance and adoption of contemporary solutions to significantly improve business performance and scalability to enable the company's growth.

The VP will be a proactive business partner passionate about collaborating with business segments and functions to deliver modern, secure, stable and scalable applications aligned with business and customer needs. This role will act as a catalyst of change, partnering with all levels of the organization and lead a matrixed team. He/she will be expected to build a high-performing team that operates with a sense of urgency, strong partnerships and focused on driving business outcomes.

The successful candidate will be a leader with strong executive presence and a proven track record of building and scaling high performing technology solutions to drive growth. The leader will take a low ego, "roll up your sleeves" approach, combining technology expertise, business acumen, influencing skills and results-orientation.

Responsibilities

  • Create and maintain multi-year roadmaps, budgets and resource plans that deliver the applications required to support the growth and scalability of the business.
  • Ensure continuous delivery of initiatives in record time, while minimizing cost and risk through a high performance, quality mindset.
  • Accountable for the health, availability, and performance of the applications portfolio, including value achieved and stakeholder satisfaction.
  • Identify opportunities for cost savings and optimization of the applications portfolio.
  • Build and develop a high performance culture that brings innovative thought leadership, cross-functional business process acumen, industry knowledge and contemporary platform knowledge.
  • Drive IT organization maturity and transformation in collaboration with other members of the IT Leadership team.
  • Demonstrated experience in building a dynamic and engaged IT organization that effectively navigates the complexities of technology, delivers innovative business solutions, contributes to the goals and objectives of the organization.
  • Build strong partnerships with executives, leaders, teams at all levels of the organization demonstrating ability to influence and lead through organizational change.
  • Establish and maintain excellent partnerships with key strategic external partners, leveraging their "outside in" expertise and thought leadership.
  • Establish strong, efficient architecture practices including standardization, frameworks, diagrams and processes.
  • Drive the development, coaching, mentoring and training of team members by setting goals and objectives, personal development plans, implementing career paths and succession planning.
  • Develop, track and manage the business application operating and capital budgets.
  • Continuously stay up to date on current industry trends and utilize findings to provide thought leadership and recommendations.


Skills and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (Master's degree preferred).
  • Over 15 years experience in leading application implementation and custom development teams, with at least 10 years in a leadership role.
  • Exceptional dynamic leadership capability including demonstrated ability to be a change agent and influence the direction of the organization.
  • Demonstrated experience in multiple companies, leading the full lifecycle of Enterprise Resource Management (ERP) implementations (e.g. SAP, Oracle Dynamics 365, etc.).
  • Strong business acumen including end-to-end business process knowledge in a manufacturing environment.
  • Knowledge of discrete manufacturing processes and Industry 4.X trends (e.g. robotics, IIoT, digital twins, augmented reality, etc.) that bridge the gap between technology and physical manufacturing activities.
  • End-to-end composable solution architecture experience across CRM, PLM, ERP, SCM, MES, etc. as well as customer facing applications and how they all integrate.
  • Demonstrated experience in mergers and acquisitions, from due diligence to integration and synergy attainment.
  • Strong executive presence, communication and relationship building skills; including the ability to explain technology solutions in business terms.
  • Strong talent management skills including strategic workforce planning, talent development, coaching, mentoring, and team motivation.
  • Strong organizational skills, including an ability to perform under pressure and manage multiple priorities with competing demands for resources.
  • Adaptability and ability to manage rapid change in business needs, processes, or technologies.
