* (50%) Cloquet Forestry Center
* (50%) Hubachek Wilderness Research Center

Job Duties
The Department of Forest Resources is seeking seasonal Research Plot Technicians to join a team of faculty, post docs, research staff, and students working on various forest ecology research projects. Typically, the Research Plot Technicians will work during the months of March and November, dependent on weather. Hours will be variable, intermittent, and may include evenings and weekends. The successful candidate will be able to work well independently and as a member of a team. Candidates must be willing to travel to field sites in northern Minnesota.

* 60%) Measure plant growth, physiology, and phenology
* (20%) Lab work includes data entry, biomass assessments, and leaf area analysis
* (10%) Routine maintenance of field sites, field instruments, and research equipment, including a Licor 6400xt
* (10%) Data cleaning and preparing for analysis

Required Qualifications
* High school graduation and two (2) years of related education and/or related experience.
* Candidates must be willing to travel to field sites in northern Minnesota.

Preferred Qualifications
* Demonstrated work or educational experience in forestry or ecology.
* Demonstrated experience in field data collection relating to plant growth, physiology, and/or forestry.
