Primary Responsibilities:

The Senior Electric Mobility Program Manager-Fleet Transitions will report directly to Transportation Mobility Electrified Practice Lead. The primary responsibility for this position will be the management of research, planning, and design and implementation of zero-emission projects and other capital project management work related to fleet transition projects. The Program Manager will lead and develop the fleet transition program including but not limited to planning, coordination; client interaction, providing technical expertise, direct the work of assigned staff; and perform project deliverable quality control.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Plan, schedule, and manage zero-emission fleet transition projects.
  • Manage professionals to ensure compliance with project scope and agency requirements.
  • Review and oversee project planning and design requirements and documents and recommend appropriate modifications and approvals.
  • Provide technical advice and assistance to team, clients, and technical personnel.
  • Develop project budgets, monitor project expenditures to ensure financial performance.
  • Provide technical delivery and task support on projects.
  • Represent HDR Electric Mobility Practice as a liaison with internal and external organizations and clients.
  • Develop, execute, and support regional business development plans to build the Electric Mobility practice.
  • Participate in business development activities including scope development, project approaches, and cost estimates for tasks and proposals.
  • On-going education and analysis of industry trends, developments, and innovations.
  • Serve as the Project Manager/Program Manager for significant projects or projects of strategic importance.

Anticipated Technical Delivery Project Responsibilities

  • Perform zero-emission fleet impact analysis on operations and maintenance.
  • Develop operating and maintenance zero emissions policy and procedures.
  • Assist in developing operating and maintenance KPI's.
  • Develop and evaluate technical specifications for vehicles and charging equipment.

Business Development Responsibilities

  • Responsible for growth of HDR's Electrified Mobility Fleet Transition practice, particularly within the Central Region. Expected Net Fees Booked by year:
    • Year 1 $1M-$2M
    • Year 2: $2M-$3M
    • Year 3: $3M-$6M
  • Represent HDR nationally at conferences through presentations, panel participation, and committee membership. Expected to cultivate relationships with key national electrification clients.
  • Will be required to travel to support business development activities and is expected to serve as the primary relationship manager and business development lead for multiple clients simultaneously. Travel is expected to be a portion of the position encompassing 25%-40% of the overall work schedule. Help to coordinate, track, and respond to opportunities. Serve as the primary author or opportunity lead.

Qualifications

Qualifications:

This position requires the following skills, attributes and experience:

  • Previous experience and abilities to manage a projects and complex programs.
  • Bachelors degee
  • 2 years program management/project management experience
  • Minimum 7 years in a project leadership role developing integrating new technology, interacting with other engineering specialties (civil, structural, power).
  • Must have the ability to mentor and lead junior staffing
  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to work cooperatively with client managers, technical directors, business group directors and operations staff.
  • Demonstrated commitment to HDR values and an attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture is a must.

Desirable skills/experience:

  • Background in Transportation Planning & Operations
  • Charging experience in Transportation, Automotive or Transit industry
  • Electric Vehicle Supply Equipment (EVSE) design, development or deployment experience
  • Fuel Cell design, development or deployment experience

For Washington State the typical starting pay range for this position is $133,550.00 - $190,785.00 annually depending upon skills, experience, education and geographical location. For Colorado, typical starting pay range for this position is $111,958.00 - $159,940.00 annually depending upon skills, experience, education and geographical location.
