Job Description
Quality Engineer

This position ensures product quality using quality engineering tools and product inspections at the MTU factory or at strategic business partner locations.

Job Functions:
 
  1. Coordinate and implement quality control objectives and activities to resolve production problems, maximize product reliability, and minimize cost.
  2. Devise and implement quality control plans.
  3. Develop and implement quality audits of production and operations.
  4. Oversee PFMEA (Process Failure Mode Effect Analysis) process.
  5. Develop long-range corrective measures through root-cause analysis using 8D/A3 methodology.
  6. Investigate non-conformances, including customer complaints and internal improvement opportunities.
  7. Carry out product inspections in line with quality control plans.
  8. Provide accurate and timely data to management regarding quality concerns.
  9. Write and distribute quality data and reports.
  10. Keep management abreast of progress, developments, and pending problems.
  11. Promote a compliance culture in area of responsibility, and live the letter and the spirit of the Rolls-Royce Code of Conduct
  12. Perform special projects as required

Required:
  1. Bachelors’ degree in Mechanical, Electrical or Manufacturing engineering plus 3 years quality engineering experience with large industrial equipment or 7 years quality engineering with large industrial equipment.
  2. Strong knowledge of the practical application of engineering science and technology. This includes applying principles, techniques, procedures, and equipment to the production of large industrial equipment.
  3. Strong knowledge of quality control, raw materials, manufacturing processes, costs, and other techniques for maximizing the effective manufacture of large industrial equipment.
  4. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interface effectively at all levels of the organization
  5. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  6. Self-starter possessing strong initiative and teamwork
  7. Ability to work flexible hours or shifts
  8. Proficient with PC and MS Office Suite

Preferred:
  1. Knowledge of NFPA 70, NEC, UL 2200 and CSA.
  2. Familiar with plant operations and equipment
  3. Knowledge of MTU components and products
  4. Knowledge of genset performance requirements
  5. Knowledge of gauge and test equipment
