We anticipate the need to hire one or more Temporary Unified Gas Helper(s) to be located at the Newport Service Center, White Bear Service Center, Wyoming Service Center and Rice Street Service Center.

The anticipated start date for this position will be in April 2020.

Summary

This position can assist in a variety of job function within Gas Operations. Work ranges from performing leak survey of our gas system to performing maintenance, installation and repair of our gas facilities. These positions work with regulation, metering, odorization, customer piping and below and above ground piping.

Requirements :

- High school diploma or GED.
- Previous construction or mechanical work experience.
- Valid driver's license.
- Must be in excellent physical condition and be able to handle a 90 pound jackhammer.
- Applicant is required to successfully pass the Xcel Energy screening requirements, which include a drug test and security clearance

4. Candidates who accept the employment offer will be required to pass Xcel Energy's background check and drug test. This process can take up to two weeks before clearance is issued.
5. After successful passing of the background check and drug test, candidates are ready to start the training class.
