Journeyman Carpenter

Job Description
Typical Responsibilities:
- Observe and follow company safety policies
- Ability and willingness to work safely and wear personal protective equipment at all times
- Complete all safety training requirements
- Ability to ask for help or instruction when unsure of what to do in any given situation
- Ability to recognize an unsafe condition and bring it to the attention of the job site Superintendent
- Ability to have good client relationships
- Responsible for a professional looking and safe operating jobsite
- Ability to read Blueprints and interpret details
- Has ability to correctly instruct and mentor Apprentices Carpenters and Carpenters
- Must be able to work safely and productively and with a high degree of quality, planning and customer service in the absence of the Superintendent for a reasonable amount of time
- Ability to figure materials for jobs
- Developing ability to motivate and schedule a crew of subcontractor(s)
- Always works productively
- Responsible for proper care and basic maintenance of all on-site company tools and equipment
- Suggest new ideas or more efficient ways of producing quality work for our customers
- Must be able to work safely, productively and with a high degree of quality

- Traveling
- Five years as a skilled Carpenter or equivalent training.
- Must use good common sense at all times and be extremely reliable, i.e.: a role model for the rest of the crew.
- Strong ability to look ahead, plan ahead and know what’s coming next in order to maintain productivity.
- Displays ambition, motivation, and willingness to do whatever it takes to satisfy our client’s needs and get the job done.
- The ability to produce quality work efficiently and safely.
- Have all necessary carpentry tools.
- Strong planning and organizational skills.
- Must possess and maintain a positive attitude toward your work, your fellow employees, the company, the subcontractors, and our clients.
- Must possess the ability to work as a member of a team in accomplishing detailed daily and weekly goals as outlined and communicated by the job site Superintendent.
- Needs to have a valid driver’s license and dependable vehicle.
- Must have a working telephone number.
- Must have a thorough knowledge of all construction processes, procedures, methods and technologies.
- Must have the ability to fulfill all physical duties, such as lifting 75 lbs, crawling, kneeling, bending and climbing.
Special Notes/Instructions
Position will require travel - projects come up throughout Northern Minnesota and North Dakota!
