Maximize the performance of the Mechanical Engineering personnel
Facilitate on time completion of engineering tasks
Primary Responsibilities:
Scheduling engineering resources for projects, service, and R&D
Annual performance reviews and day to day personnel management
Facilitate on-time completion of engineering tasks
Training and mentoring
Define processes and provide tools
Create and maintain Aagard standards
Promote continuous improvement initiatives in engineering design and process
Ensure compliance with applicable industry and safety standards
Collaborate with fabrication and assembly
Evaluate new products
Support Sales and Applications
Actively involved with project work as Mechanical Engineer
General Responsibilities:
Adhere to, support and promote the Aagard vision and culture statements
Demonstrate professional, respectful interaction with other team members
Accurately and professionally represent Aagard to customers and vendors
Other duties as assigned
Minimum Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field and 5 years of experience in mechanical design, or equivalent combination of education and/or experience
Know what success looks like and how to lead people to it
Knowledge of motion and timing charts
Ability to visualize concepts
Ability to develop new designs and improve existing designs
Understanding of what drives cost
Understanding of parts fabrication and standard manufacturing tolerances
Proficiency in solving problems in a timely manner
2D and 3D CAD experience
Experience in the servo driven packaging machinery industry
Experience with mechanical design of automated machinery
Previous experience defining processes and standards
Previous experience with mentoring and training of engineering personnel
Previous project management experience preferred
Previous supervisory experience preferred
Understanding of engineering and manufacturing principles
Ability to communicate with a variety of people both verbally and in writing, including presentation skills
