Reading & Math, Inc., is a collaborative effort to help Minnesotan children who are struggling in reading or math excel academically and help disadvantaged adults achieve economic stability through education and employment. Minnesota Reading Corps and Minnesota Math Corps tutors work to ensure that Minnesota children are on track to read by the end of third grade and are algebra-ready by eighth. Partnering with local schools and school districts, we place and train AmeriCorps members to implement research-based math and reading strategies for students from Pre-K to 8th grade. Minnesota Opportunity Corps members serve with nonprofits and educational organizations to help economically-disadvantaged adults meet their career goals. About 1,400 members are currently serving statewide, working closely with students and adults to provide essential one-on-one and small-group support to help them become successful in school and in life.
