The Leidos Research Support Team supporting the National Energy Technology Laboratory (NETL) is seeking an Operations Engineer to join our team in Pittsburgh, PA. In this role, you will support cutting edge research to provide actionable scientific and data-driven results to inform Direct Air Carbon capture advancement with a specific emphasis on pilot projects. You will perform engineering work in R&D, design, development, integration, operations, and troubleshooting environments. You will develop and apply engineering standards and procedures, and provide advice on issues within the engineering field. You will also collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to design, execute and evaluate experiments, and communicate to a variety of audiences (i.e., conferences, internal meetings).
As the Operations Engineer, you will provide necessary support for installation, startup and operation of the research, development, and test systems that comprise the Direct Air Capture (DAC) Center facility at NETL. The Center's mission is to support research, development, and testing of prototype technologies for direct air capture and storage of carbon. Your role will be critical to support the DAC mission. The Operations Engineer will work under the direction of the DAC Technical Director and the DAC Operations Lead to provide critical support of the Center's activities.
Location: This position is 100% onsite at the NETL campus in Pittsburgh, PA

Salary Range: $75K to $90K
