About the Unit/Department/Team

We are a growing emergency services team here at Lakewood. We currently serve a wide range of patients and see about 10,000 patients annually. We collaborate with Providers, EMS/Ambulance Staff, and other teams inside and outside Lakewood.

To support the Emergency Department and health system to provide personalized, quality care to each patient, every time.

Duties & Responsibilities OR Position Summary

Primary Responsibilities

  1. Assists patients to and from the Emergency Department, transport to other departments, i.e. Radiology for continued patient care.
  2. Responsible for the care and cleaning of the Emergency Department. Assists with re-stocking of supplies that have been used but not replaced.
  3. Start adult IV’s;
  4. Observe patient receiving nebulization treatments.
  5. Assist with foley catheter placement as directed.
  6. Record and carry out delegated functions during a code.
  7. Assist in setting up suture trays.
  8. Assist in setting up transfers as directed by RN.
  9. Restock crash carts.
  10. Assist RN with precipitous delivery.
  11. Perform other technical duties as delegated by RN.

Position Type

This is a casual position and will include shifts in the emergency department. Current shifts are variable. Pay starts at $19.25/hour.

Qualifications

Qualifications

  1. High school graduate/GED
  2. Current EMT or LPN licensure in Minnesota
  3. BLS certification
