Purpose
WeWork is responsible for effectively managing Client relationships and their financial requirements. The Client Finance and Accounting team is responsible for the timely and accurate fulfillment of financial and transactional deliverable requirements. The focus of this team has a direct impact on client relationships, client consolidated financials and WeWork's industry reputation as a service provider and partner.
This Senior Associate Accountant of Client Finance and Accounting will be a key player in the Month-End Financial Close as well as have an opportunity to grow within a dynamic Client Finance and Accounting organization. This position will be responsible for preparing month-end financial statements on behalf of WeWork's clients, review 3rd party financials from operational service providers, and play an essential role in the overall Client Finance and Accounting organization. This position will report to the Senior Manager of Client Finance and Accounting.
Accountable For
Assisting with the monthly financial close by preparing account reconciliations and submitting journal entries
Preparing monthly expense and revenue analysis and explaining trends/variances.
Preparing balance sheet account reconciliations and supporting schedules.
Preparing monthly bank reconciliations
Answer client accounting and financial inquiries by researching and interpreting data.
Managing workload proactively, organizing and prioritizing tasks (both routine and one-off)
Review 3rd party financial statements from operational service providers
Work closely with Directors of Facilities Management and Facilities Managers on any operational finance questions.
Capabilities
Bachelor's Degree from a 4 year college in Accounting or Finance
2-4 years of relevant accounting experience, real estate finance experience preferred
Proficient with MS Office and Google Workspace
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Strong working knowledge of US GAAP
Experience with Workday Financials is a plus
Proactive self-starter capable of working independently as well as in a team
Strong financial and analytical skills
Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple competing priorities and varying deadlines
Ability to understand and interpret complex data
Excellent verbal and written communication skills and ability to effectively manage multiple work streams and stakeholders
Flexible with ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment
