Job Description
Overview The Priest Chaplain is the spiritual care specialist of the care team responsible for providing Sacramental ministry to Catholic patients. Priest Chaplains work with other members of the spiritual care department to assess and respond to spiritual and emotional needs. Responsibilities/Job Description * Provides spiritual support and Sacramental ministry to Catholic patients and families based on assessment of spiritual needs during assigned day and on-call shifts. * Exercises skillful listening, compassionate presence & clear communication. Collaborates with unit and on-call chaplains for proper assessment of spiritual care needs. * Provide spiritual support for health care staff.* Participate in regular meetings of the department and assigned clinical areas, including interdepartmental work. Qualifications * Graduate degree in theology from approved theological seminary* Ecclesiastical Endorsement from diocese for ministry in a health care setting
