About Children's Minnesota Children's Minnesota is the seventh largest pediatric health system in the United States and the only health system in Minnesota to provide care exclusively to children, from before birth through young adulthood. Please visit childrensMN.org. Department Overview The Chaplaincy department provides support to families, spiritual assessment and working with families experiencing a crisis. In addition, the serve as an outreach to community clergy, facilitate in religious rituals in the hospital (I.e. baptism) and provide support to staff. Position Summary The On-Call /Casual Chaplain will provide chaplaincy services after hours, weekends, holidays, and days as requested, to children, families, and staff of Children's Minnesota. The On-Call /Casual Chaplain will communicate information about patient care cases and coordinate follow-up care with Day Staff Chaplains. The On-Call /Casual Chaplain will also coordinate pastoral care with family faith leaders and home faith communities as appropriate. The On-Call /Casual Chaplain may be assigned to shifts during the day based on need. A graduate-level theological degree from a college, university or theological school accredited by a member of the Council for Higher Education Accreditation or appropriate theological training recognized by one's faith tradition. Minimum of four units of clinical pastoral education (CPE) programs. Provide documentation of current endorsement and/or ordination of good standing in accordance with the requirements of one's own faith tradition. Minimum of one-year hospital experience, preferably with children. All job offers are contingent upon successful completion of an occupational health assessment, drug screen, background investigation, and compliance with the U.S. Government Form I-9, Employment Eligibility Verification. Children's requires proof of immunity to vaccine preventable infectious diseases prior to employment, as recommended by the Centers for Disease Control (CDC).
