PCA is hiring for a Co-op Health/Safety Engineering position at our mill in International Falls, MN. Looking for a student working towards a B.A./B.S. in Industrial Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Occupational Health & Safety, or a related field.


Essential Functions:

  • Understand and carry out oral and written instructions, read and write at a level sufficient to fulfill the duties to be performed for this position.

  • Work with technical, district and governmental personnel.

  • Develop and implement training and evaluation programs.

  • Recognize hazardous conditions, unsafe acts, and their cause and make appropriate corrective measures.

  • Respond quickly and appropriately in emergency situations.

  • Speak effectively and make use of audiovisual aids.

  • Be familiar with and able to use and calibrate safety related equipment, i.e., noise level meters, light meter, anemometer, etc.

Knowledge-Skills-Abilities

  • Knowledge of OSHA standards, Workers Comp Laws, EPA regulations and industrial hygiene practices.

  • Must be able to work well under pressure and within time constraints, multi-task, and build sound relationships with both internal and external customers.

  • Must exhibit excellent communication, analytical, organizational and computer skills.

  • Must be capable of independently making sound decisions through creative problem solving.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Must have completed 2 years of coursework with a 3.0 GPA towards a BA/BS Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Environmental Engineer, Occupational Health & Safety, or a related field.

  • Experience using Microsoft Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Word

  • Must be capable of working with ambiguity and change.
