Performs a variety of technical procedures that result in the creation of microscopic slide preparations. These technical procedures may include: accessioning specimens; specimen processing and microtomy techniques; paraffin, frozen, and plastic. Technical staining procedures include: routine H&E, special stains, immunofluorescence, immunohistochemical staining, and in situ hybridization. Participates in on-call rotations, including weekends as needed. Receives direction from the laboratory director, laboratory supervisor, assistant supervisor, lead technicians, and staff pathologists. Assists with training of students and new employees. Department: Anatomic Pathology/Histology

Basic Qualifications: HT and/or HTL certified through the ASCP Board of Registry.

Preferred Qualifications: Graduate of a NAACLS accredited or other formal histology training program preferred. **A 2-YEAR COMMITMENT TO THIS POSITION IS REQUIRED.

Salary: Education, experience, and tenure may be considered along with internal equity when job offers are extended. The minimum pay rate is $18.90 per hour.
