Product development specialist develops and launches products and services that generate profitable growth for the OptumHealth vision business unit. Product development specialist is part of the dedicated product development team and works collaboratively with cross functional partners in achieving timely and successful product launches. This position reports to the Vision Product Director.
Position Accountabilities:
  • Plan, prioritize and execute product development and launch projects according to vision business roadmaps and timelines
  • Key member of product development team, responsible for analyzing, investigating and completing all product development elements by working collaboratively with vision team leaders and cross-functional partners including but not limited to clinical, network, supply chain, operations, IT, sales, marketing, legal, finance, actuarial, underwriting, human capital, etc.
  • Identify and use industry and business data and trends to design competitive products
  • Understand the needs of consumers, payers/employers, providers and material suppliers and develop products and services to meet or exceed those needs.
  • Analyze and recommend products that should be sunset based on utilization and/or profitability

Qualifications
  • Bachelors Degree or equivalent direct product development experience is required
  • Significant experience in end-to-end product development, preferably in the vision or health care industry
  • Demonstrated analytical and project management skills
  • Cross-functional experience in working collaboratively with clinical, network, supply chain, operations, IT, sales, marketing, legal, finance, actuarial, underwriting, human capital, etc.
  • Proven results in multiple roles including project leader, team member and individual contributor
  • Advanced MSOffice skills including Powerpoint and Excel
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
