Medical Coder - Clinic Setting
Minneapolis location
Daytime Hours

Ideal candidate must have current experience with Epic and primary care coding and be comfortable stepping in and making an immediate contribution with little training time, Must be flexible, adaptable, and willing to challenge yourself. Experience in a fast paced clinic setting with previous coding a must. Certification preferred but client will consider someone with strong experience without certification.

Responsibilities:

Reviews all encounter forms for diagnosis's related to visitis, procedures, and testing. Expertly uses the CPT and ICD9 coding tools to place the appropriate codes with the services provided.
Assigns codes to diagnoses and procedures for patient medical records using ICD-9 and CPT coding and classification.

Qualifications:

Certified Coder or equivalent ecperience while employed in a clinic setting.
Minimum of one year experience in a clinical business office.
Strong communication skills - verbal and written.
Must be able to utilize all office equipment including personal computer and application software,printer, fax, copier and multi-line telephones.
