Position Title: Apprentice Instrument and Control Specialist Position Posting #: UN-MN-0670
Geographic Location: Monticello, MN
Special Instructions:
We anticipate the need for one or more Apprentice Instrument & Controls Specialist(s) on the day shift working 0730 to 1600 based out of the Monticello Nuclear Generating Plant, in Monticello, MN. The rate of pay for the job classification is $29.77 per hour.

Position Summary:
Perform installation, maintenance, calibration, testing, troubleshooting, configuration and repair of power plant instrumentation and process control systems. Perform testing required by Plant Operation, regulatory requirements; review, prepare and submit records in support of these activities. Specify and initiate purchase requisitions in support of the above. Maintain accurate maintenance history records. Safely perform duties of classification.
Minimum Requirements:
Education:
1. High school diploma or GED.
2. Two-year certificate from vocational technical institute in electronics or instrumentation, or company approved equivalent training and/or experience.

Experience:
1. Two or more years troubleshooting and repairs to the component level of electronic/industrial instrumentation desired.

Special Requirements:
1. Once hired, individual must demonstrate satisfactory progress in the apprentice I&C Specialist program including passing two national certification tests in Industrial Instrumentation.
2. Scheduled and emergency overtime is required.
3. Ability to develop the skills needed to respond to back shift call-outs for unsupervised work required.
4. This position is nuclear sensitive and applicant is required to pass NMC nuclear security screening requirements.
5. Must successfully pass the Edison Electric Institute Plant Personnel test.
Selection criteria may include testing and/or assessment.
