Job Description

Manages the overall spend of Hydraulics & Mechanical category which comprises of servovalves, transducers, LVDTs, accumulators, pumps, bearings, manifold blocks, valves, mechnical fasteners and hydraulic fittings and accessories. Provide direction to the procurement team assigned to the Hydraulics & Mechanical category and implement effective supplier management plans.

Develops the strategic vision for Hydraulics & Mechanical by creating sourcing plans and leads resources in the identification of potential suppliers, requirements documentation, RFI and RFQs, bid and price analysis, negotiation and contract award and supplier performance management.

Manages the Hydraulics & Mechanical category by aggressively seeking opportunities for cost containment and/or process improvement. Develops and communicates performance metrics and utilizes best sourcing practices within the Hydraulics & Mechanical category. Proactively communicates with the category team and materials leadership on leading indicator data and external market factors that could impact cost and supply risk.

Negotiates complex agreements with global suppliers that may include protection of IP, co-development, technology partnerships etc. Develop contingency plans to mitigate risk of non-performance of sole-sourced vendors. Additionally, negotiates blanket contracts to maximize savings over multiple years of spend, including performance clauses and all other terms and conditions.

Develops & manages supplier contract database and all pertinent supplier related legal documents like NDAs, joint development agreement etc.

Leads all category specific projects within Hydraulics & Mechanical category and performs procurement function for complex and/or difficult to source items.

Job Requirements

Bachelor's degree in business, economics, supply chain or engineering and minimum ten years of increasing responsibilities in a custom or engineered-system or semanufacturing environment (Degree in Mechanical engineering highly preferred).

Demonstrated experience in leadership and leading cross functional teams.

Strong Business Acumen and Analytical capabilities.

Experience with strategic sourcing processes and supplier performance management programs preferred.

Strong demonstrated experience with negotiations, influencing, project management and communications is preferred.

MS Outlook, MS Project Visio experience preferred.

Advanced Excel and MS Access skills preferred.

Knowledge of quality management systems (ISO2000, AS9000, QS9000).

Knowledge of SAP preferred.

Certified Lean Six Sigma Black Belt or Green Belt preferred, but not required.

CPM, APICS or other supply chain management certifications preferred.

10-15% travel required.
