Allina Commons is the Minneapolis-based headquarters of Allina Hospitals & Clinics, a not-for-profit health care organization serving patients and communities. Approximately 1,600 corporate and administrative service employees work at offices within Midtown Exchange, site of the historic Sears retail complex at Chicago Avenue and E. Lake Street. This community landmark, adjacent to the campus of Allina's Abbott Northwestern Hospital, is the second largest building in Minnesota and includes offices, an internationally themed public market and residential units.
Responsibilities:
Provide technical support and system administration for the various business intelligence systems and development tools supporting the EDW and other analytical systems. This includes implementing, supporting, modifying, and upgrading various software applications and assisting in the planning and configuration of the associated hardward systems. Below are some specific duties for this position:
Install, configure, test, support and monitor BI systems
Provide BI systems support and troubleshooting
Establish and maintain a knowledge base of problems with the goal of problem prevention
Provide input to technology evaluation/procurement teams on compatibility and feasibility of recommended solutions and/or products
Define and manage system security according to corporate standards
Participate in system performance tuning
Participate in software and hardware specification recommendations for evaluation/procurement team leadership
Apply proven, yet practical methods to ensure project deliverables meet budget and time commitments
Qualifications:
BS/BA in technology or business-related field or equivalent work experience
3 + years experience in technology or related field
All EDW team members are expected to posses the following skills/abilities:
Excellent verbal, written, presentation and interpersonal communication skills
Ability to obtain, analyze and synthesize information as well as multi-task under pressure
Excellent problem solving and critical thinking skills
Excellent organizational skills
Develops collaborative partnerships across departments, business units and Allina to achieve results and improve performance
Ability to collaborate with customers, peers, leadership and vendors
Below are some specific skills/abilities required for this position:
Demonstrated proficiency in Structured Query Language (SQL)
General understanding of Business Intelligence (BI) best practices
General understanding of and proficiency in project management principles and best practices
Basic understanding of statistics fundamentals
Able to perform simple system tuning activities
Demonstrated proficiency in using and managing business intelligence, analytics and reporting tools
Understanding of information security technologies and best practices
Fundamental understanding of the various levels of systems architecture (hardware, operating systems, services, and software applications)
