Allina Commons is the Minneapolis-based headquarters of Allina Hospitals & Clinics, a not-for-profit health care organization serving patients and communities. Approximately 1,600 corporate and administrative service employees work at offices within Midtown Exchange, site of the historic Sears retail complex at Chicago Avenue and E. Lake Street. This community landmark, adjacent to the campus of Allina's Abbott Northwestern Hospital, is the second largest building in Minnesota and includes offices, an internationally themed public market and residential units.
Responsibilities:
Provide technical support and system administration for the various business intelligence systems and development tools supporting the EDW and other analytical systems. This includes implementing, supporting, modifying, and upgrading various software applications and assisting in the planning and configuration of the associated hardward systems. Below are some specific duties for this position:
Mentors project leads and ensures all projects meet goals
Has full technical knowledge of all applications systems
Responsible for remaining educated on current BI technologies and best practices
Responsible for defining and recommending short and long-term technical strategies
Define and recommend BI standards, processes and technologies
Participate in the BI project and program governance
Lead technology evaluation and procurement projects
Responsible for maintain synergistic relationships with BI vendors
Qualifications:
BS/BA in technology or business-related field or equivalent work experience .
6 or more years experience in technology or related field.
All EDW team members are expected to posses the following skills/abilities:
Excellent verbal, written, presentation and interpersonal communication skills
Ability to obtain, analyze and synthesize information as well as multi-task under pressure
Excellent problem solving and critical thinking skills
Excellent organizational skills
Develops collaborative partnerships across departments, business units and Allina to achieve results and improve performance
Ability to collaborate with customers, peers, leadership and vendors
Below are a few specific skills/abilities required for this position in addition to those needed for the other job levels of the BI Systems Adminstrator job family:
Ability to lead the definition of standards
Ability to lead/coordinate multiple projects simultaneously
Ability to define and recommend the technical BI strategy for the organization
Ability to lead technology evaluation and procurement projects including: options assessments, and cost/benefit analyses
