Responsibilities
Infrastructure Portfolio Architect Network , End User Computing, Unified Communications
The role of the Portfolio Architect is to plan and design IT capabilities that are efficient, stable, resilient, secure, and aligned with Ameriprise Financial technology strategies and standards. The Portfolio Architect is a member of the Leader Architect community, which requires a focus on delivery that is balanced with the long-term goals of the enterprise. Specific responsibilities include:
- Defines the As-Is and To-Be architectures of the portfolio. Assesses gaps and creates associated migration plan.
- Leads the creation of solutions that maintain clear business benefit and stay on the evolutionary path to the To-Be architecture.
- Documents, reviews, and approves architecture decisions.
- Provides guidance to project architects on design and technology decisions.
- Conducts asset health assessments.
- Mentors and develops Project Architects.
- Provides project teams with conceptual designs that bound project-level designs.
- Participates in enterprise, portfolio and project level governance activities.
- Learns about new products and technologies and partners with others to determine potential capabilities and optimization opportunities.
- Collaborates with other Portfolio Architects, especially where the portfolio strategy/roadmap has cross-organizational impact.
Qualifications
Demonstrated leadership skills including: ability to drive results and change in large organizations, effective communication (including executive levels), results-focus, thought leadership, relationship-building, and ability to influence.
Extensive experience (minimum 4 years) with architecture related to:
- Data Networking
- Voice Applications
- IP Telephony
- End-User-Computing including Thin Clients and Virtualization
- Network and End-User Computing aspects of Business Continuity Planning
- Disaster Recovery Solutions
Demonstrated experience in effective communications skills to identify value propositions and inputs into business case for an investment, or changes to the environment to reengineer or reduce demand.
Preferred Qualifications
- 6-8 years in Technical Leadership position, preferably with both Architecture and Technology Operations leadership experience.
- Experience in Financial Services Industry preferred,
- College degree in information technology or related field
