Job Summary
This benefits eligible position is responsible for Transaction Processing activity, both electronic and paper based. It is responsible for meeting multiple daily deadlines and ensuring daily work is completed on time. Responds to any sudden demands for service or schedule changes. Process Incoming ACH and Outgoing ACH Origination. Assists with check capture - Check 21 Image files or paper based, Proof of Deposit (P.O.D.) and other forms of transaction input such as ATM files, and reports. This position is responsible for problems with peripheral equipment, laser printers, Inserter machine, mail machine, and all related computer equipment to ensure operations are running smoothly. This position assists with the continuing operations of the IBM AS/400 computer system and Jack Henry Application system. Needs to understand the whole operation of ACH and Image files.
This is a 40 hour per week position, working Monday – Friday 11 AM – 7:30 PM, with occasional Saturdays.
Qualifications:
High school education and at least 3-5 years of computer operations experience, preferably in a banking operation environment. Requires basic knowledge of computer operations, ACH and peripheral equipment, including tape drives, printers, various types of terminals and PC equipment. Requires basic knowledge of computer operations software to schedule jobs, backup data, copy tapes, and start/stop peripheral equipment.
Attention to detail is a must. Accurate ten key skills using a calculator or PC for addition, subtraction, and account balancing is required. Must be able to recognize numbers to maintain high level of quality and accuracy in all areas of production.
Requires good organizational skills to maintain and direct workflow, and the ability to prioritize to meet deadlines. Must be able to differentiate between numerous jobs and tasks and identify and apply appropriate processing procedures and use judgment and discretion in providing customer service to bank staff.
