Chair, College of Business & Organizational Leadership In the Department of Criminal Justice
Position Responsibilities:
Teaches, advises, and gives leadership and strategic direction to the criminal justice program. Full time tenure track faculty. Identify and implement strategies to penetrate local and national CJ markets. Make contact with student inquiries/applicants and handle inquiries about CSP and/or program. Advise students; guide capstone and portfolio processes. Help to ensure a curricular coherence. Hire and develop adjunct and term faculty. Engage in a process of continuous formative and summative assessment. Department and budget management. Direct recruiting of new students. Develop relationships with partner organizations. Represent CSP at various CJ related events.
Qualifications:
Commitment to the mission and values of a Lutheran University
MA required; Ph.D. or J.D. preferred
Broad leadership experience in criminal justice settings
Demonstrated effective leadership/supervisory experience
Networked in the criminal justice/law enforcement community
Innovative and entrepreneurial approach to creating opportunities for success
Ability and desire to interact effectively with adult students
Experience in facilitating training/learning experiences in related fields of study in a variety of settings
Experience in education department administration
Financial/budgeting skills/experience
A commitment to Christian higher education and the Lutheran identity of the university
Active membership in a Christian church
