Function
Assist the Maintenance and Production departments in troubleshooting problems, installation of new equipment or upgrading of existing equipment. Assist in the design and development of new products and improving present processes.
Essential Job Duties:
Develop and recommend proposals for improved manufacturing methods, Procedures and equipment directed at reducing costs while maintaining quality standards.
Assist console operators and maintenance personnel troubleshooting problems with the machine or the process including PLC ladder logic.
PLC programming of Allen-Bradley Micrologix, SLC, and Logix Series of PLC’s.
Layout, installation, and programming of communication networks including Ethernet, Controlnet, Devicenet, and Profibus. Configuration of I/O, Drives and other devices on these networks.
Design and layout of Allen-Bradley Kinetix or other Servo Drives. Programming of Motion within Allen-Bradley Logix PLC’s.
Design of HMI Machine operators interfaces using RSView Studio and Panlview Plus and Supervisory Edition.
Installation and programming of AC Variable Frequency Drives.
Design of motor controls and Motor Control Center layout.
Drawing of Electrical Schematics using Autocad based software for machine upgrades and maintaining these schematics to current machine design.
Design and installation of machine safety systems to meet industry standards.
Will abide by and support Viracon safety and personnel policies.
Will perform reasonably similar, or related, duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
A 2-year technical degree in engineering or a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience is required.
Knowledge of Computer Aided Drafting software.
Knowledge of Visual Basic programming and databases would be a plus.
The position requires excellent verbal and written communication skills. All communication must be in English. The ability to operate computer equipment for word processing, trend analysis, and product testing is also required.
The candidate must be highly organized and able to juggle several projects at once.
A strong work ethic is required. While the work schedule is basically dayshift, Monday – Friday, the candidate must be available to work evenings, night shift and weekends on an as needed basis
