Position Summary |
|
The Major Gifts Officer is responsible for soliciting gifts of $100,000 and higher from potential donors and manages relationships with approximately 150 prospective donors, identifying, qualifying, cultivating, soliciting and stewarding these donors. The position works collaboratively with and in support of volunteers, other development staff, and other representatives of Children's to cultivate and solicit donors for Children's organizational priorities; monitors all prospect contacts to ensure positive and purposeful prospect and donor relations, and recommends and assists with programming involving the senior leaders and campaign volunteer leaders.
The position works collaboratively and strategically with the VP, Development and Executive Director, Foundation, other fundraising professionals, senior leaders, physicians and other organizational leaders.
Qualifications:
* Bachelor's Degree required. Masters preferred. * Must be a highly energetic professional with a track record of building donor relationships and closing gifts in the six-figure range. * Ability to understand the needs and interests of organizational leadership and major gift donors in order to develop relationships between them and the hospital. * Ability to rapidly become familiar with Children's program areas, and to establish and maintain effective working relationships. * Ability to grasp quickly the specifics and the implications of various plans and proposals. * Ability to communicate effectively using a high level of written and oral communication skills, persuasiveness, imagination and insight into developing relationships with individuals and sponsors. * Knowledge of and technically familiar with traditional and innovative fundraising programs. * Skill and ability to work with physicians and staff members in funding needs assessment and supportability consistent with the mission and vision of Children's. * Ability to develop solutions to complex problems that require the use of ingenuity and creativity. * Ability to present the aims and objectives of Children's development program in a manner that effectively informs and persuades others. |
