Position Description
Overview
Join the fastest growing SAN Company in the world! Compellent Technologies, Inc., a leading provider of enterprise-class network storage solutions, is seeking a migration specialist as part of Compellent’s Copilot Services team.
Responsibilities
The Migration Specialist is responsible for delivering planning and delivery of migration services, and other professional services. Services will range from scoping and planning migrations for customer environments to actually performing the migrations or other services with our business partners, services partners, or customers. Services may be delivered remotely, but will primarily be delivered on site. This position requires 50 to 60% travel, and will include significant amounts of weekend work.
•interact with both technical and non-technical personnel and must be able to communicate effectively via telephone, in writing, and in person.
•develop, and maintain services best practices documentation for migration and other professional services. Development of these best practices will include lab testing and validation of Compellent migration processes with various operating systems and storage arrays.
•work closely with the Business Development Managers and Storage Architects in developing services proposals, including technical scoping, project planning, and statement of work development.
•work closely with Compellent Business Partners and Services Partners to train, assist with, or plan and perform onsite data migrations.
Qualifications
•Bachelors Degree in Computer Science, 2 year technical degree, or equivalent working experience.
•Minimum 6-9 years systems administrators experience in Windows, and Unix platforms.
•Windows and Unix platform Cluster experience.
•Minimum 6-9 years storage administrators experience is desirable.
•Strong IP background is a plus
•SAN technology and Open systems technology.
•Experience with switch fabric configuration, monitoring, and support is required.
•Network operating system certifications with Novell, Microsoft, Linux, or Sun are a plus.
•MS PowerShell experience a plus.
