We currently have an opening for a Line Technician at our Wahkon, MN location. This position provides for the construction and maintenance of transmission lines, substations and associated equipment on the GRE system. Work is performed on energized and de-energized equipment.

To qualify, the successful applicant must have a certification or degree in electrical line work and related courses. We prefer three or more years of line construction and maintenance experience, however, a State approved GRE/IBEW Joint Apprenticeship Program is available. The successful candidate must have a valid MN driver’s license and the ability to obtain a Class A commercial driver’s license (CDL) within six months. This person must also have the ability to lift up to 75 pounds, perform strenuous physical duties and be physically able to perform the essential functions of the job. The successful candidate will also have personal computer skills and the ability to operate heavy equipment such as digger derricks, bucket trucks, backhoes, etc.

The starting hourly rate is in accordance with IBEW Local 160 contract. We also offer an excellent benefits package.
