Position Description

The Manager Personal Trust and Advisory Services is responsible for directing the Personal Trust department’s team with the overall objective being to drive growth and profitability in a manner consistent with the values and interests of Anchor Bancorp. This position has the responsibility for setting the strategic direction as well as management and operational control of the department with the approval and guidance of Anchor Trust President.

This position reviews and interprets wills or trust agreements; confers with customers regarding the establishment, administration and operation of trusts; drives the identification, selection and ongoing monitoring of investment manager(s); works with investment manager(s) to value assets and develop investment strategy; ensures execution of investment strategy; ensures proper administration of the portfolio; confers with attorneys, accountants, beneficiaries etc. to resolve issues, anticipates and controls risk through products or process to meet customer needs; liquidates assets and distributes interest upon termination of trust.

Qualified candidates must have a bachelor’s degree from an accredited university, and ten plus years of related Institutional trust/employee benefits OR related personal trust/wealth advisory / financial planning experience. This experience should include management of employees and a proven record of success in business development. In addition, candidate must have the ability to profitably manage a business on a long-term basis, possess strong relationship management / sales skills and have superior human relations skills. Ability to work effectively under deadlines and pressure also required. In additional, all qualified candidates must have a complete and in-depth knowledge of the Wealth Advisory, Personal Trust and Financial Planning businesses as well as related laws and regulations.
