Position Overview:
CHS has an exciting opportunity in our Accounting department within our Energy division. We are looking for an Accountant II. This position has responsibilities within Refined Fuels Inventory and Exchange accounting and Renewable Fuels Marketing (RFM) accounting.
Responsibilities:
• Utilizes excellent analysis skills for physical inventory to inventory system examination, identifying, researching and resolving discrepancies to ensure accurate and complete inventory reporting.
• Monthly examination of exchange partner product and differential balances compared to inventory system.
• Effective skills in communication and persuasion are required to convince exchange partners the necessity and importance of maintaining timely and accurate exchange inventories.
• Resolution of material inventory/exchange discrepancies before month end close.
• Scrutinize RFM activity to identify discrepancies, providing immediate resolution to ensure accurate customer billing and plant payments.
• Make certain RFM provisional price contracts are settled timely and accurately.
• Track RFM inventory at storage locations, ensuring quantities reflect the physical inventory and values are accurate.
• Possess fundamental understanding of financial transactions pertaining to revenue, cost of sales and gross margin.
• Accurately complete month-end journal entries and supporting schedules.
Basic Qualifications: (required)
• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting.
• Two to five years cost accounting work experience.
• Proven analytical and organizational skills and problem solving ability.
• Proven expert level Microsoft Excel capabilities.
• Proven detail oriented performer with a high level of accuracy.
• Must possess the ability to communicate clearly and effectively
• Demonstrated skill in working in a team environment.
Preferred qualifications: (desired)
• JDE One World experiences is a plus.
